A Fun Picnic To Wrap Up The Year- Psyched

On Saturday the 17th of December 2022, the biggest event to wrap up the year -PSYCHED- was thrown by the department of psychology at the car park, of the Faculty of The Social Sciences. PSYCHED is a picnic for all Napsites and Non-Napsites to come, eat, interact and have fun. The picnic fixed for 2 pm did not start until 3:20 pm. The ushers at the line allowed only those who had their tickets to enter the venue and after validating their presence each student was asked to pick a number randomly. During this, the face painting activity was going on and it was done by a 100-level Napsite “Demi”.
By 4:02, everyone was ushered to sit on the mats as popular Nigerian music kept on playing in the background to keep the crowd ecstatic. The MCs for the picnic were Olumi, 300 level psychology major, and Richard, 300 level Mathematics major. Tomiwa otherwise known as “Tommy stone”, a 300-level psychology major was asked to lead an opening prayer.

By 4:15, the MCs introduced the first thing on the agenda, which was games. 3 boys and 3 girls were asked to couple up and use pickup lines on each other. That ended with the spelling bee contest coming after at 4:24 pm. Five contestants volunteered and the agenda lasted four rounds. A DLC psychology student emerged as the winner and won a pair of Nike Air Force shoes sponsored by Kiddy blaze.
The next agenda, fastest fingers commenced by 4:50 pm. During this, snacks were shared amongst those who were in their seats. By 5:00, an artist, Oluchi, rapped for the excited crowd and by 5:03, the next agenda, Karaoke began with the MC acknowledging wizard fans which caused a friendly uproar in the crowd.

Afterward, there was a stand-up comedy which was before the so-called “garri drinking competition” which required 4 contestants from the levels to drink garri in a red cup, and the first to finish their cup of garri emerged as the winner. During this activity, food was shared and included chips, cucumbers, and pomo.
The next on the agenda was the tweaking challenge and by 5:55, the activity “devil’s basket” was announced. There were explicit dances and dares but those who couldn’t do it were asked to pay a fine. Towards the end of the game, a couple officially got together during this activity.

Notable executive council members of the NPHR and FHR were both present and ex-members were recognized and acknowledged. The president of FATSSSA, The president of NAPS, The former president of FATSSSA, and the speaker of the FHR were also recognized.
By 6:21, Kiddy Blaze, a popular UI artist, and other artists rapped and sang songs to soften the mood. Afterward, finalists were called out to dance and celebrate, since this is supposedly their last event like this. The picnic ended with the majority of the attendees joining the finalists in the dance hall.
