A New Age; A Better NAPS

Opinion: By Oluwadarasimi Otunla

As we all know, the electoral ban was lifted by the NPHR recently on Friday, the 31st of March, to give way for the commencement of the 2023 NAPS Electoral processes. Even before that, several candidates have emerged, rallying people to vote for them. Fliers, posters, and other graphic designs are everywhere, e.g., “ **** is coming” or “..... let’s make a change,” etc.

It is prevalent for aspirants to have started gathering voters from the beginning of the session. This is usually done by the generic or stereotypical “nice” acts. But we all know a sad majority of them aren’t any good as they portray.

The development and stability of the department solely depend on who the Napsites will vote into power. Thus, the following body and the change they bring are in the hands of the Napsites.

To ensure a well-done election, Napsites should involve themselves in the electoral process by voting. Napsites should also acquire more information on the duty and roles of each post to know what they are voting for and who they feel best fits such posts.

For a new system, better than the last, to improve what was already fine, and to establish peace, unity, and confidence, I implore you, “Napsites,” to vote for not just the best candidate but the right candidate. Who are you going to vote into power?
