The Local Organising Chairman (LOC) of the 2026 National Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting , Prof. N.A. Shenge, has clarified that the event will officially commence on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, following reports of confusion among some students
According to the LOC, while delegate arrival, registration, and related activities begin today, Tuesday, June 2, the conference's academic and plenary sessions will not commence until the following day.
The clarification became necessary after some students mistakenly interpreted the arrival date as the official start of the conference, and already made their way to the expected venue, but found out no event was being held there. Organisers have therefore urged all participants to take note of the schedule to avoid any misunderstanding.
The conference, themed "Industrial-Organisational Psychology in an AI-Enabled Society,"
will hold at the Dame Edith Okowa Auditorium, Alumni Guest House, opposite Queen Elizabeth II Hall, University of Ibadan, from June 3 to June 5, 2026.
Speaking on the importance of the event, the Local Organising Chairman noted that the conference will provide a platform for students, psychologists, researchers, academics, human resource practitioners and organisational consultants to engage with emerging issues at the intersection of artificial intelligence and workplace psychology.
Participants seeking further information regarding the conference schedule and activities are advised to contact the Local Organising Committee through the official channels provided by the organisers.
