A content creator with the username BOD Republic recently made a viral tweet that introduced controversy. This is not the first time the social media influencer has been involved in controversy.
His legal name is Ademuwagun Olabode Samuel, and he grew up in Agege, Lagos state. He originally started his music career featuring well-known artists like Reminisce; he later became a social media influencer and content creator, helping to promote brands on his social media platform.
The social media influencers had been accused of stealing content from lesser-known content creators. However, this is not what sparked controversy a few days ago.
The influencer had tweeted asking his followers whether they had ever taken a photo with the Prophet Mohammed. Muslim faithful were angry with this blasphemous tweet, especially during this holy period of Ramadan.
This tweet sparked a lot of controversies, with some claiming it was a harmless joke while others frowned at the blatant disrespect the influencer had shown his followers of the Islamic faith.
The influencer deleted the offensive tweet and apologized to his followers, who number over 2 million, claiming he had made an insensitive joke and even sending private messages to the most vocal of the angry protesters begging for calm and assuring them he didn’t mean any disrespect to the prophet or any Muslims.
