INTERVIEW WITH THE SPORTS SECRETARYAYOBAMI BAKARE

PRESSMAN: Good evening. I am Victoria from PSYCHLENS Press. Can you introduce yourself, sir?

MR. AYOBAMI: Hello. My name is Ayobami Emmanuel Bakare. A 400l student of the prestigious department Psychology.

PRESSMAN: You were elected as the department Sports Director recently, how has the experience so far sir

MR. AYOBAMI: My experience so far has been hectic, from organizing the match between the freshers vs Staylites and trying to bring everybody together to come and support the department at the ongoing Seal’s Cup it’s being God

PRESSMAN: Can you give an in-depth into one of these activities?

MR. AYOBAMI: Concerning the freshers vs Staylitesmatch that was held on the 23rd of September, it was kind of an impromptu arrangement because we really wanted to know how good the freshers were so that we could know who and who to fix into the psychology football squad for the seal’s cup which was the following week. And we achieved it excellently.

PRESSMAN: In your manifesto, you said you have always had a passion for the sport but why you didn’t come as a candidate until the time for the bye-election?

MR. AYOBAMI: I am not really a political person. I didn’t really have any aspirations of going for any post at all after the NAPS elections, nobody came out for the position (sports director).

All my friends told me I should go for the post and I thought about it deeply and what was running through my head was Ayobami it’s your final year enjoy it while it lasts and gbam here I am.

PRESSMAN: “Enjoy it while it lasts” Can you buttress that?

MR. AYOBAMI: Enjoy it while it lasts* to me means. It’s my final lap in this school, I have not been involved in anything like this throughout my stay and there was an opportunity I just had to grab it, and will also make good use of that opportunity.

PRESSMAN: OK, can you encapsulate the reason you vie for the post in a sentence?

MR. AYOBAMI: To leverage my passion for sports and strategic leadership skills to drive the success and growth of sports in the department.

PRESSMAN: So what are your plans to achieve this sir

MR. AYOBAMI: Cooperation from everybody.

PRESSMAN: So, presently there’s no plan for any sports activities?

MR. AYOBAMI: There is but it’s for the second semester during NAPS week and some indoor games I will also fix towards the end of the first semester.

PRESSMAN: OK, moving on to the last question. Do you think there is anything wrong in the department sports settings?

MR. AYOBAMI: Sincerely nothing at all. It just needs more push.

PRESSMAN: Ok. Thank you so much Mr. Ayobami for your time.
