Meet Awe Albert Oluwadamilare, an aspirant vying for the post of NAPS, UI President.

In this series of Interviews, PsychLens thought it would be beneficial for NAPSites to have an early meeting with the various aspirants for Executive Offices in the Upcoming Elections.

It's essentially a collection of each of their fundamental characteristics, including their core motives and overall perceptions of the Association's leadership.

The main quizzing and evaluating of manifestos will take place at the SLT on November 10, 2021, by 3 pm.

Here's, let's meet Awe Albert Oluwadamilare, an aspirant vying for the post of NAPS, UI President.

Pressman: Good evening Sir. I'm Eniola, the Acting Editor in Chief of PSYCHLENS. I'll love a few minutes of your time for a brief interview.

Mr. Oluwadamilare: Good evening ma'am. Whenever you are ready ma.

Pressman: Can you please introduce yourself to us, please?

Mr. Oluwadamilare: My name is Awe Albert Oluwadamilare, a 300level psychology student of the prestigious University of Ibadan.

Pressman: Describe yourself to us, your person, basic beliefs in life, source of motivation, etc

Mr. Oluwadamilare: OK ma

Hmm, I will describe my person as humble, jovial, compassionate, and loving

I believe in impacting lives positively, making people happy I also value relationships so dearly. I believe relationships are the foundations for success in whatever we lay our hands-on, having people around is one of the basic ingredients to being successful

My source of motivation is God and my mother

Pressman: Why exactly are you interested in running for this office?

Mr. Oluwadamilare: The major reason why I got interested in running for the office is that I want to raise the standard in NAPS UI, I want to do things differently, I have noticed from administration to administration over the years there has been nothing different where administration just keep doing the same thing over and over again and also there is always a wide gap between NAPSITES and the administration most things being done by the administration over the years is done without adequately carrying NAPSITES along which ought not to be so, so they feel left out and I believe this is one of the major reasons for low turnout during events and programs being organized, so I want to really bridge that gap.

my motivation is to establish a very high standard that will serve as a legacy for upcoming administrations because they won't want to do less than what has been done before them.

Pressman: How do you feel about going unopposed?

Mr. Oluwadamilare: Hmm, sincerely I feel good about it, it's not that there are no capable hands that can pilot NAPS UI to greatness in fact there are, but the fact that those that might have had an interest in running for the post believe in me and decided to support me, this is why I feel good and happy about it. You know that feeling when people just say go we believe in you, no better encouragement than that.

Pressman: What do you think of NAPS engagement in political activities?

Mr. Oluwadamilare: Is it At the departmental level or Faculty level ma?

Pressman: Department level

Mr. Oluwadamilare: Okay ma. Before now the political Apathy has been on the high side, NAPSITES were so uninterested in political activities, but this session I will call it a big miracle from above because it's shocking to see people all-out running for posts previously we have to cajole people to run for posts most of the time we will have to do by-elections but I am happy with this turn around it shows great things are about in happen to NAPS UI

Pressman: What interests you the most about politics?

Mr. Oluwadamilare: The way I perceive politics is the fact that there is responsibility involved, the fact that power is been given and one will be accountable for how he or she has exercised that power, what interests me the most about politics is the sense of responsibility that it gives me.

Pressman: What is the central theme of your manifesto?

Mr. Oluwadamilare: The central theme of my manifesto is THE PROGRESS AGENDA
