The Nigerian Association of Psychology Students (NAPS) is gearing up for its much-anticipated NAPS Week, a six-day series of events designed to bring psychology students together in a blend of learning, creativity, wellness, and culture. In the words of the AGS, "NAPS Week is a series of lined-up events that are important to help bring Napsites together. It helps strengthen connections and foster learning outside the lecture rooms."

While the official date of the event is yet to be announced, the budget is still pending approval by the NPHR. The NAPS leadership has expressed optimism about the preparations. Discussions are also already ongoing with potential sponsors who will be interested in supporting the week financially. According to the AGS, the event will also feature special invited guests, whose identities are currently undisclosed.

The event, scheduled to run from Monday to Saturday (official dates yet to be announced), features a variety of intellectually stimulating and socially engaging activities. The highlights for each day include:

Monday: The week kicks off with "The PsycheQuiz," a psychology-themed quiz competition that will test students' knowledge and speed. This will be followed by an L&D (Literary and Debate) session, offering a platform for articulate discussions and the exchange of ideas.

Tuesday: The spotlight shifts to wellness as students come together for a Mental Health Program, which is aimed at promoting awareness and self-care. There would also be outreach to secondary schools around.

Wednesday: The middle of the week will feature the Psyche Walk and Outreach, a community-focused event where students step out to connect with the larger society, extending acts of service and spreading awareness about psychology and mental health.

Thursday: Titled "Psychology Beyond the Walls of School," this session will help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application, exposing students to diverse career paths and professional opportunities in psychology. The day will round off on a relaxing note with a Movie Night, allowing Napsites to unwind and bond over shared entertainment.

Friday: The spirit of sportsmanship will take center stage during Sports Day, featuring friendly games and athletic competitions that will foster unity and healthy rivalry among students.

Saturday: The grand finale will be the Cultural Day, a colourful celebration of diversity, tradition, and creativity, where students get to showcase their rich cultural heritage through performances, fashion, and cuisine.

As the countdown begins, Napsites are encouraged to get ready for an intriguing edition of the NAPS Week.
