NAPS INCUMBENT ADMINISTRATION NEEDS TO WAKE UP

It's no longer news that the second semester of every session is the more busy and fun-filled of the two semesters in the session. Therefore, it's more of a responsibility for both the departmental and faculty administration to engage the students with social events. After all, basic dues are being paid by every student.

Following the start of the second semester, the FATSSSA administration hosted a picnic for FATSSSITES. This event was called AMAPIANO which was claimed to be free, however, most students were ignorant of the fact that the event was a part of their package. Regardless of this fact, it is known that the Faculty administration made an effort in letting the students have a taste of some socializing event.

Unfortunately, incumbent NAPS administration has utterly failed in putting up such effort. Yes, NAPS as an association organized a whole week for social events. This was called Abnormals. While NAPS effort is appreciated for organizing the NAPS week, this is just as expected, as every association under the University of Ibadan has a week set for them. However, what is not expected by most students is NAPS' organizing no other socializing event aside from the NAPS week, even after collecting a #2500 basic dues from 237 psychology students.

With a total of 592,500 naira paid by 237 NAPSITES, it is expected that NAPSITES deserve more than NAPS week. NAPS Association has obviously spent money on NAPS week, however, organizing a NAPS week is the only thing they can be applauded for and this is quite disappointing.

It was confirmed that the department of sociology, political science with Economics organized a picnic and hang out for students in their department and, certainly, this action will not prevent them from having their departmental Week. This fact keeps us asking what exactly NAPS is doing.

NAPSITES are waiting for the incumbent administration to look into this fact by proving that they care about NAPSITES and their concerns for having all the fun they deserve.
