NEWS: UI OPENS STUDENTS' PORTAL FOR STAYLITES HALL APPLICATIONS

The University of Ibadan has opened its student portal for returning students seeking accommodation in the Halls of Residence for the 2025/2026 academic session.

In a notice released by the University of Ibadan Student Affairs Division on March 12, 2026, the institution announced that the accommodation module on the UI portal became accessible to staylites from 8:00 a.m. on the same day. The division also apologised for the delay in granting access to returning students.

The notice emphasised that the application process has closed for fresh and final-year students, stating that only staylites are eligible to apply during the ongoing phase.

Returning students are additionally required to indicate whether they have completed their Jaja registration. Those who confirm completion will have their status verified from the University’s database before being allowed to submit their hall application.

After submitting the application, students are advised to regularly check the “Hall Allocation” page on the portal for the decision of the hall warden. Once an application is accepted, students will proceed to pay their hall fees and other required dues before being allocated a room.

Successful applicants are expected to print their accommodation slip and hall identity card, which must be presented upon arrival at the Hall of Residence to receive their room keys.
