News: UI Students’ Union Secures Final Fee Payment and Registration Extension to May 11

By Faith Ajewole

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union has successfully negotiated a further extension for school fees payment and course registration. The new deadline is now set for May 11, 2026.

The announcement was made via a formal notice dated April 28, 2026, signed by Union President Temidayo Adeboye. This marks the second extension facilitated by the union; the original April 16 deadline had previously been moved to April 30 before this latest development.

According to the Union, the extension was granted after deliberations with university management regarding the hurdles students are facing, specifically citing delays in NELFUND disbursements and other payment processing issues. Since course registration is contingent upon fee clearance, the portal for both will remain open until the new date.

What you need to do:

  • Complete your fee payment via the portal.

  • Proceed with course registration immediately (as both are linked).

  • Do not wait until the final hour!

The Union leadership emphasized that this window is a "concession" and urged students to act promptly, noting that there might be no further extensions.
