On the 25th of March 2022, Hon. Oluwapelumi Komolafe published an informal statement stating her intention to resign as the Chief Whip and a Constituency Leader of the NPHR.
Hon. Komalafe stated her intention on her official class Whatsapp group and in an interview with PsychLens, she gave a reason behind such action. "I'm resigning from my position because I've been asked by the executive members of the faculty to move to the faculty house of representatives as a co-opted Honourable and I accepted the offer as this gives me an avenue to serve more." She said.
When being asked if she left because she lost interest in serving the interest of her constituency leader, the Honourable admitted otherwise.
"I'm going to the FHR as a co-opted Honourable. As a result of this, it will be constitutionally wrong and greedy on my part if I decide to keep the two positions. I'm still very much active in representing and serving the interest of my constituency members. I'm not seeing this as leaving the NPHR or no longer serving the interest of my members but this is an avenue for me to represent their interests in a larger faction and to serve them well and also serve the whole faculty interest at large." She stated.
While Hon. Komolafe is yet to officially inform Napsites about such a sudden intention or release a official statement to Napsites, a resignation letter has been forwarded to the NPHR.
