SOMETHING NEW IN THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

There's no doubt that a lot of transitions followed the aftermath of the deadly virus COVID-19 which swept through all parts of the world in the year 2020. The existence of the virus has allowed for better precautions. All around the world, physical meetings have been reduced to the barest minimum of which the University of Ibadan is not left out.

All through the first semester of the 2020/2021 session, the students, lecturers, non-teaching staff, and the whole University of Ibadan, in general, learned to be technologically inclined as everyone had classrooms and offices on their mobile phones. In the first semester, the lecture halls and halls of residence were vacant until it was about time for the exams to commence.

On resumption to the regular system of learning, physical lessons did not resume in full as some large classes remained on zoom. The lecture hall popularly known as CBN became deserted as no classes were held there. It is no wonder that almost no one noticed the structure being built right beside the CBN lecture hall.

A 2-story multi-purpose center for the Faculty of Science is almost completed as it can be seen to have been built, plastered, and roofed. From observation, on painting after fixing the doors and windows, it should be completed of which we'll await its opening and it'll begin to function.
