Do you know that being healthy plays an important role in your academics?
Your health as a student can either positively or adversely affect your academics. There is a saying that goes “Health is wealth”, but as a student, health is more than wealth. You shouldn’t wait till you break down before you take good care of your health. The beginning of a new session is a great time to start caring about your health while thinking about the importance of your academics. Here are a few tips to help keep you with your health journey through the semester:
1. Exercise: Regular exercise is beneficial to your health. It stimulates the body's natural maintenance and repair system.
2. Eat rightly: ‘You are what you eat'. Do not overindulge in junk food. A Balanced diet is an important part of maintaining good health.
3. Water: The importance of water in the body can't be neglected. It serves multiple purposes, it carries nutrients and oxygen to cells, metabolises proteins and carbohydrates, and regulates body temperature.
4. Rest: Rest well. No matter how demanding or challenging your workload as a student becomes you should always find time for rest. This will give you the energy to not only meet up with the demands but also prevent burnout. Sleep restores energy and repairs cells.
5. Meditate: Meditation improves concentration, information processing and decision-making. It increases self-awareness, self-acceptance and happiness, and reduces stress and anxiety.
When you are in good health, you will have enough strength as well as motivation to read and attend classes. These tips are important things we overlook, though we hear them, as well as see them all the time. Now that it has been compiled in this article, one can do well to walk towards it and have a healthy-filled session ahead.
