
UI releases Hall Application Process for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The Dean of Students at the university of Ibadan Demola Lewis, released a memorandum on the 17th of February, 2026, addressing the application for accommodation in the hall residence for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The memorandum stated that the portal is now open for the fresh students and final year students who will like to stay in the school’s hall of residence, from today 17th of February till 23rd of February, 2026. It was said that the portal is strictly open for the final year and fresh students only and the returning students or staylites will granted access on a later date for accommodation application. The memo also provided the students with steps to go about their application, which was sectioned into A and B.
Section A
Students who wants to apply for accommodation must log in to their student portal. Once logged in, student should click the “Hall” button and select “Hall Application” after which the application form will be displayed for them to fill. The student will have to fill in the information of their next of kin, for them to proceed to the application page itself.
A color passport photograph with size 1mb and white background will be necessary for registration. Aplicants will also be asked to provide additional information on accommodation history, health challenges (if any) and Jaja Registration.
The final step in section A, which will allow final year student to submit and await the response of their Hall warden is a Yes/ No question of “Have you completed your jaja registration?” If the answer is yes, the registration status will be confirmed from the university’s database and if found, the student will be allowed to submit their application form, while the fresh students will not be asked about their Jaja Registration on the application page, but the are advised to fill the details of their health issues if any.
Students should ensure they click the submit button.
Section B
This section requires students to pay for their accommodation fee and the basic dues which are necessary fees once the Hall Warden accepts their application. The status of the student will show “Accepted” and not “Registered”, they are to click the fees bar and select Hall Fees and Basic Dues to proceed to paying the Basic dues and other optional dues. When the payment transaction is all done, the students will be assigned a room by the hall warden, and their room number will appear on the application page. Students are asked to print out their application slip and Hall identify card in color, as that will be their only means of getting their room keys on arrival to their Hall of Residence.
