The Department of English secured a narrow 1-0 victory over the Department of Psychology in a tightly contested Seal Cup ’26 group stage encounter held on Friday, April 24th, at the SUB pitch.
The match, which kicked off at 1:00 p.m., saw an intense start as both sides showed early determination. Just a few minutes into the first half, English found the breakthrough, capitalizing on an early opportunity to take the lead. The goal immediately increased the pressure on the Psychology side, who responded with several attacking attempts in search of an equalizer.
Despite sustained efforts from both teams, the first half ended 1-0 in favor of English.
The second half resumed with renewed energy.
Psychology intensified their offensive, while English maintained a disciplined defense to protect their lead. The match saw several free kicks and scoring opportunities; however, neither side was able to convert, leaving the scoreline unchanged.

Following this result, the Department of Psychology now faces a crucial fixture against the Department of Law on Tuesday. This upcoming match is a must-win for Psychology as they aim to secure qualification for the next stage of the Seal Cup ’26.
